Marc Michaelson got his first taste of construction after 8th grade when his family built their cottage in northern IN. The general contractor of the project was a fireman and prompted Marc to boast he too would build houses and be a fireman. After college and a brief musical career, Marc started working for a talented contractor named John Bolton Coleman. This small company provided a steep learning curve and allowed skills to develop quickly. After John suffered a serious on-site injury Marc began to contract small projects and quickly developed a successful team whose core group remains intact. In 1999 Marc and Jay Messner started EPIC Contractors and bought a building in Historic Milford.
EPIC's reputation for quality, accountability and value grew and soon Marc was contracting projects throughout the East side. A merger in 2002 created EPIC Builders and a move to Madiera followed. Soon after the merger there was a shift in philosophy from custom building and remodeling to speculative building. After much deliberation, Marc and several other Epic members left to form Michaelson Homes back at the original building in Historic Milford. Michaelson Homes continues to thrive due to our diligent and dedicated staff, our successful experience, and our thoughtful processes.
